The City of Mount Vernon, EDC, and Franklin County Industrial Foundation partnered with MHS Planning & Design in 2023 to develop a Strategic Plan for two underdeveloped corridors near Interstate-30.  These corridors are anticipated to be essential for the city due to the growth of the DFW Metroplex.  MHS utilized smart growth principles to create two distinct areas – one that focused on creating a live-work-play environment, and the other focused around commercial space with natural open areas. This plan provided the city with the tools to proactively prepare for the future needs of the community.
